Florey Primary runs a whole school social skills program designed to equip students with personal and social-emotional learning (SEL) skills from the BounceBack Wellbeing and Resilience program. Each term, students and teachers explore important personal development themes such as resilience; success, humour, conflict, emotions and change.
The interactive activities and lessons provide students with practical strategies and life skills to handle challenges and adversity encountered and encourage students to think and talk about themselves and others.
The social skills program provides opportunities for students and teachers to work with other classes from across the school, broadening the social and support networks available to students.
Social skills themes and activities are published in the school newsletter to provide further links between school and home and to allow parents to support the social and emotional learning (SEL) happening at school.
