Social and Emotional Learning

At Florey Primary School we believe Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is essential to the development of our students as learners.

SEL is the process through which we acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.

There are five components to SEL at Florey –

1. Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL)

2. Zones of Regulation (ZoR)

3. Friendly Schools Plus (FS+)

4. Prevention of Bullying

5. Protective Behaviours

As a school we follow a scope and sequence for these components and have a timetabled weekly session for implementation of this learning.
